Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are essential for restoring damaged or missing teeth, helping you regain your smile’s beauty and functionality.

What are crowns?

Crowns are custom-made caps that fit over your existing tooth, providing strength, protection, and a natural appearance. Crowns are often recommended for teeth weakened by decay, cracks, or large fillings.

What are bridges?

Bridges fill the gaps left by missing teeth. They consist of one or more artificial teeth anchored to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants. Bridges restore your smile’s appearance and prevent neighbouring teeth from shifting out of place.

The Procedure

Our dental team follows a meticulous process to ensure the successful placement of crowns and bridges:

Consultation:

Your dentist will assess your oral health and discuss your treatment options during your initial visit. We’ll take X-rays and impressions of your teeth to create custom-fitted crowns or bridges.

Consultation:

Your dentist will assess your oral health and discuss your treatment options during your initial visit. We’ll take X-rays and impressions of your teeth to create custom-fitted crowns or bridges.

Preparation:

The affected tooth will be prepared for crowns by removing a small portion of its outer surface to accommodate the crown. The adjacent teeth will be prepared to serve as anchors if you get a bridge.

Impressions:

We’ll take detailed impressions of your prepared teeth to create crowns or bridges that fit perfectly and blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.

Temporary Restoration:

While your permanent crowns or bridges are being crafted in our lab, we’ll place temporary restorations to protect your prepared teeth.

Placement:

Once your custom restorations are ready, we’ll remove the temporary ones and securely place the permanent crowns or bridges. Our team will ensure proper fit, alignment, and bite before cementing them.

Final Adjustments:

We’ll make any necessary adjustments to ensure your crowns or bridges feel comfortable and function properly.

Aftercare:

Proper care and maintenance are essential for prolonging the lifespan of your crowns and bridges. Maintaining good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing once daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste will help avoid damaging the crown. Visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and check-ups to ensure the health and integrity of your crowns and bridges. Avoid eating hard or sticky foods that can damage or dislodge crowns and bridges.
